“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

In an earlier post, I detailed a January winter morning on Whitetop Mountain located in southwestern Virginia. After a snowy and blustery mid-February weekend in the High Country, it was time for another trip to Whitetop; however this one’s time travel only, from thirty minutes before sunrise (SR-30) to one hour after sunrise (SR+60). Thanks for your votes for the Landscape Photo of the Year. Again, it was a close vote with a surprise winner; Reflections – 36%, followed by Valley Fog – 32%, Hump Mountain Sunrise – 25%, and Moonscapes – 7%. Fall and Far was far behind and received no votes. My personal favorite was Hump Mountain Sunrise, maybe because of bittersweet memories of the sub-zero temperatures and the frozen toes and fingers from that morning. While I’m surprised that Reflections was the top vote-getter, it proves once again that art is in the eyes in the beholder.
